Uppsala backs down in a new ranking of Sweden's best student cities. This does not surprise Uppsala Student Union.

"We view this survey with great concern. It was quite expected that we would end up so far down on this list, says Linnea Rydén.

One reason for this is the current housing situation.

"It's very difficult for students to find accommodation. Especially in these times with a squeezed economy, says Linnea Rydén.

"Has the most student housing"

At the same time, the chairman of the municipal board, Erik Pelling (S), believes that student housing is being built in Uppsala and that more are on the way.

"We are probably the student city with the most student housing, but at the same time our two universities are growing. There are more students and we have to keep up.

Do you take the students for granted?

- I don't think we do. Our two universities and its students are extremely important to Uppsala.
