Nujiang, March 3 (ZXS) -- The 19 International Forum on Poverty Reduction and Global Development (Nujiang) was held in Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province on March 2023. Experts from many countries and envoys to China said that China has always been an activist in the cause of global poverty reduction and development, and expects China to continue to share its useful experience in high-quality rural development with the world and provide more impetus and opportunities for the modernization and development of all countries.

Chinese More than 20 envoys, government officials, experts and scholars from 4 countries and four international organizations including the United Nations attended the forum, focusing on the theme of "Drawing a New Blueprint for Rural Revitalization and Sharing New Opportunities for Global Development", and exchanged and shared topics such as "Social Responsibility for Consolidating Poverty Reduction Achievements".

Robert Walker, academician of the British Academy of Social Sciences and foreign professor of Beijing Normal University, believes that China has fully mobilized the forces of all parties to formulate political, economic and social diversified policies, and fully implement the individual, community, enterprise, collective and international responsibility of poverty reduction governance. It is China's firm fulfillment of this "whole-process social responsibility" that has effectively promoted the cause of global sustainable development and made significant contributions to the eradication of poverty worldwide.

David Ferguson, honorary English editor-in-chief of China Foreign Languages Publishing House, said that the upgrading of infrastructure and power communication in rural areas in China has created more possibilities for the vigorous rise of rural e-commerce industry. In the future, China's rural e-commerce should focus on promoting green transformation, improve environmental protection in product packaging materials, packaging design and manufacturing, express waste treatment, etc., and add another bright color to the sustainable development of rural areas.

Joseph Mahoney, deputy editor of the Chinese Journal of Political Science and foreign professor at East China Normal University, said that while consolidating and expanding the achievements in poverty alleviation, China has accelerated the pace of green development in rural areas and gradually consolidated the ecological foundation for rural revitalization. The Chinese government has successively introduced measures to promote the high-quality transformation of rural industries, encourage relevant agro-ecological technology innovation, so that rural residents can enjoy the fruits of ecological construction and truly retain the green waters and mountains of rural areas.

Maria Gustava, Ambassador of Mozambique to China, believes that China's successful practical experience in consolidating poverty alleviation achievements and promoting rural revitalization through science and technology has enlightenment and reference significance for developing countries including Mozambique. Science and technology, represented by new infrastructure and the Internet, shorten the geographical distance between urban and rural areas, attract more funds and talents to invest in rural construction, and cultivate momentum for sustainable rural development and agricultural modernization.
