There were nasty scenes to say the least when the backup star threw himself straight to break a free throw for Brynäs. The scoring chance was averted but had a hasty and uneasy aftermath.

Long wait for ambulance

Jenni Hiirikoski's neck guard had slipped down and her opponent's skate cut across her neck and she was left lying in the corner for a long time. The ambulance that pulled out to the scene of the accident was in Boden and it was almost half an hour before it arrived.

"It was scary. I immediately felt that when I raised my hands, it didn't work out and then I quickly got scared," she says.

How she feels today

Tonight, Luleå has the chance to decide the final series and secure the Swedish Championship gold on home soil, but it will be without Hiirikoski on the ice.

In the clip, you hear her talk about the injury.
