Ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Russia on June 20, President Xi and President Putin contributed articles to the media of each other's country.
While President Xi emphasized that "a rational way to solve the situation in Ukraine will definitely be found," President Putin welcomed China's constructive role.

Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to pay an official visit to Russia from June 20 to 22.

Prior to this, the two leaders contributed articles to the media of each other's country, in which President Xi explained the significance of the document released by China calling for dialogue and ceasefire with Russia and Ukraine, saying that it "rationally incorporated the outstanding issues of each country and played a constructive role."

He emphasized that "if each country adheres to equal, rational, and practical dialogue, a rational way to resolve the Ukraine crisis will surely be found."

In response, President Putin expressed his expectation that this meeting with Mr. Xi "will definitely give new impetus to the cooperative relationship between the two countries."

Regarding the situation in Ukraine, he expressed his gratitude for China's balanced policy, and welcomed China's constructive role.

The two leaders are scheduled to hold face-to-face meetings for the first time since September last year on September 21, and the focus will be on what stance they will take on the situation in Ukraine.
