"In general, the situation at the moment in the country and at the polling stations is stable, there are no facts of violation of public order," TASS quoted him as saying.

Sultanbayev noted that law enforcement agencies are working in an enhanced mode in connection with the elections. According to him, about 45 thousand employees of the internal affairs bodies are involved in measures to protect order and ensure the safety of citizens.

Polling stations have already opened in most regions of Kazakhstan for voting.

There are 281 candidates from seven political parties represented in the elections.

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has already voted at polling station No. 58 in Astana.
