According to him, the crisis in Ukraine provoked and diligently fueled by the West is the brightest to date, but by no means the only manifestation of intentions to maintain dominance in the international arena and a unipolar world order.

He added that the North Atlantic Alliance is trying to give its activities a global reach, "aiming at penetrating the Asia-Pacific region."

Also, the Russian president said that some forces are persistently trying to split the pan-Eurasian space into a network of "exclusive clubs" and military blocs, whose actions are aimed at "restraining the development of our countries," as well as infringing on their interests.

"However, no one will be able to achieve this," Putin stressed.

In the article, Putin noted that the upcoming visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Russia is a significant event that once again confirms the special nature of the Russian-Chinese partnership.

He also said that Russia is open to a political and diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, but "the future of the peace process depends solely on readiness for a serious conversation, taking into account the prevailing geopolitical realities."
