The Investigative Committee of Russia will give a legal assessment of the statement of the Minister of Justice of Germany Marco Bushman, the press service of the department reports.

"The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the central office of the department in the framework of the ongoing inspection to give the necessary legal assessment of the statements of the Minister of Justice of Germany on the implementation of the illegal requirement of the International Criminal Court to arrest Russian citizens in Germany," the report said.

Earlier, German Minister Marco Buschmann said that Berlin would comply with the requirement of the International Criminal Court. "I expect the ICC to quickly contact Interpol as well as the participating States and ask them to comply with the requirement," he said.

In addition, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz welcomed the ICC's issuance of an "arrest warrant" to the Russian leader: "The fact is that no one can be above the law, and this is becoming obvious right now."

Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergei Nechaev expressed extreme concern about the position of the German authorities.

"The irresponsible statements of some German officials about their support and readiness to implement the illegitimate and completely absurd decision of the International Criminal Court cause extreme concern and indicate how far they are from reality in seeking further escalation of the conflict with Russia," the diplomat said in a commentary, the text of which is quoted by the press service of the diplomatic mission.

In turn, the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov again noted that the decisions of the International Criminal Court for Moscow are legally null and void.

"We consider legally null and void any decisions of the International Criminal Court, which we also do not recognize," the Kremlin spokesman said.

On March 17, the International Criminal Court announced the issuance of warrants for the "arrest" of Vladimir Putin and the Russian presidential commissioner for children's rights Maria Lvova-Belova, accusing them of "illegal deportation of children."

At the same time, the international body decided to publicly disclose the information, since allegedly "the actions considered in this situation are allegedly still ongoing, and public awareness of these warrants can help prevent further crimes." ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan added that the arrest warrant was regrettable.

The situation was commented in the White House. US President Joe Biden called the ICC decision justified, although he noted that Washington does not recognize the competence of this instance. We add that the US authorities have repeatedly threatened representatives of the International Criminal Court because of their investigations into crimes committed by the US military, in particular in Afghanistan. So, from 2020 to 2021, two ICC employees were under US sanctions.

"For the sake of their own geopolitical interests here (in the United States. — RT) support the unprecedented legal unleashed by the ICC, knowing full well that Russia, like the United States, does not recognize the jurisdiction of the ICC," the Russian Embassy in Washington said.

In turn, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, recalled that the Russian side is not a party to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and "does not bear obligations under it."

At the same time, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, called the ICC a "puppet in the hands of the collective West," which is always ready to carry out "pseudo-justice by order."

"This biased, politicized, incompetent international court has once again proved its flawedness," he said.
