The Supreme Emergency Committee of the prisoner movement in Palestine said on Saturday that the prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons will announce in the coming hours their collective will, in preparation for a hunger strike on the first day of the blessed Ramadan.
The committee, which represents all prisoners of the occupation prisons, said in a statement leaked from inside the prisons that "unless the occupation authorities retreat from all their retaliatory measures, which were taken by the Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, the comprehensive hunger strike will begin on the first of the blessed month of Ramadan."
Among the retaliatory measures mentioned in the committee's statement are preventing hot water from prisoners, allowing each prisoner to shower for 4 minutes, which will lead to the spread of diseases among prisoners, acknowledging the first reading of the death penalty law, and withdrawing many achievements, including treatment and education, that prisoners obtained after going through difficult strikes for decades, according to the committee's statement.

The Higher Emergency Committee said the hunger strike would bear the slogan "Volcano of Freedom or Martyrdom" and would involve prisoners from all Palestinian factions.
The committee's statement also called on the Palestinian people to organize support vigils for the prisoners next Tuesday evening in all city centers.
