According to Shukri, Cairo and Ankara have "the political will to begin the path of full normalization of relations."

Earlier, at the initiative of the Egyptian side, the presidents of Russia and Egypt, Vladimir Putin and Abdel Fattah Sisi, held a telephone conversation.

The presidents noted the progressive development of "friendly and mutually beneficial ties in the trade, economic and humanitarian fields."
