Prime Minister Kishida announced his policy of fundamentally reviewing the childcare leave system in order to overcome the declining birthrate.
The government plans to raise the level of childcare leave benefits so that both men and women who take childbirth for a certain period of time can secure the same amount of take-home payments as before the leave.

Prime Minister Kishida held a press conference on the evening of March 17 regarding measures to address the declining birthrate, which he positions as the most important issue for his administration, and stated, "The next six to seven years will be the last chance to see if we can reverse the trend of declining birthrates.

In addition, in order to change the social structure and awareness, we announced that we will raise the target for the rate of male employees taking childcare leave to 6% in fiscal 7 and to 2025% in fiscal 50.

In addition, regarding childcare leave benefits taken by both men and women for a certain period of time after childbirth, he stated that "the benefit rate will be raised to 2030% of the take-home amount," and indicated that the company will be able to secure the same amount of take-home leave as before the leave.

On the other hand, with regard to the annual income barrier, Prime Minister Kishida stated, "Even if the barrier of 85.10 million yen is exceeded, we will first introduce support for initiatives that will not cause a reversal of take-home payments, and then work to review the system."

It has also been pointed out that the "annual income barrier" is a reason to restrain working hours because if the amount exceeds 106.106 million yen or 130.<> million yen, depending on the size of the company you work for, you will not be eligible for dependents, and the burden of social insurance premiums will be incurred, resulting in a decrease in take-home payments.

For this reason, the government is considering providing subsidies to companies where people who are dependent on their spouses work part-time, etc., so that companies can shoulder the burden of social insurance premiums.

By reducing the burden of insurance premiums, we hope to create an environment where employees can work without being aware of the "annual income barrier" and lead to an increase in income for part-time employees and others, and we will adjust specific amounts and financial resources in the future.
