After the announcement of Elisabeth Borne of the activation of 49.3 to pass the pension reform in the National Assembly, the reactions were numerous everywhere in France. As in Rennes, where the night was marked by clashes. This Friday, they were more than 3,000 in the Breton city to express their anger. Europe 1 went there.

The Hexagon mobilized. Actions continue everywhere in France, the day after the announcement of the use of 49.3 by the government to force through the pension reform. The Paris ring road was stopped for half an hour this Friday morning at the call of the CGT. The stations of several cities were also blocked, as in Bordeaux or Toulon in particular. Then, in Rennes, thousands of people took to the streets to express their anger in the aftermath of a night punctuated by violence.

More than 3,000 demonstrators in the streets of Rennes

Arriving in the Breton city in the late morning, the craftsmen were on the front line in the streets of the city center, all busy repairing the many windows exploded last night. This was marked by clashes between several hundred individuals and the CRS. An explosion of violence that has raised fears for the worst for the new call to demonstrate launched this Friday by the unions. This time, no clashes were noted. It must be said that the Ministry of the Interior has sent in reinforcement a company of 200 CRS experienced in urban violence. More than 3,000 people came to shout their anger at the use of 49.3. A procession where all generations were represented.

"Gabriel Attal (Minister in charge of Public Accounts, Editor's note) assured on March 13 that he did not see why the government would use the 49.3. It's a bit like making fun of people's heads," said a young protester. "It will continue like this next week. We hope to renew this, block the economy and show that we are there!", says a Rennes present in the procession. Next Thursday, a new day of national mobilization has already been announced. But until then, unions have called for community rallies over the weekend.
