This opinion was expressed by the First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky.

He noted that in the area of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) in the DPR, the Ukrainian military are "in a very deplorable situation" and suffer heavy losses.

"I think that we are on the eve of very serious military events not in favor of Ukraine," RIA Novosti quoted Polyansky as saying.

He added that weather conditions also do not favor the Ukrainian army.

Earlier, the acting governor of the Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo, reported that the Ukrainian army does not have enough resources to attack the left bank of the Dnieper in the Kherson region.

Acting head of the DPR Denis Pushilin reported on the attempts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to counterattack in one of the sections of Artemovsk.

According to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, the capture of Artemovsk will allow to conduct an offensive deep into the defense of the Ukrainian troops.
