On Wednesday, there was an opening ceremony for the generational home Lilla & stora Rospiggen. The concept is developed by the Norrlandia Group, which operates similar accommodations in Finland. The accommodation in Norrtälje is the first of its kind in Sweden and has space for 62 children and 80 apartments for the elderly.

"A lot of kids don't meet a lot of older people. Here we can create a natural contact daily and have joint activities, says Lena Augustini, principal of preschool activities.

Love to make up fairy tales

Fredrik Eschricht, 85, has been living at the nursing home for just over a week. He thinks the idea of bringing together several generations under one roof is a good one.

"I love children and making up fairy tales," he says.
