Wang Wenbin: On data security, China has always been frank, open and cooperative. In 2020, China proposed the Global Data Security Initiative, which clearly stated that countries should require enterprises to strictly abide by the laws of the countries where they are located, and must not require their own enterprises to store data generated or obtained abroad in China, and respect the sovereignty, jurisdiction and security management rights of other countries. Without the permission of the laws of other countries, data located in other countries shall not be directly accessed from enterprises or individuals.

China has said so and has always done so. We call on relevant countries to recognize the objective facts, earnestly abide by the rules of the market economy and the principle of fair competition, refrain from generalizing and abusing the concept of national security, and provide enterprises of all countries with a fair, transparent and non-discriminatory business environment.
