Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin held a regular press conference on March 3.

A reporter asked: After China released the news of the Shah-Beijing dialogue, Egypt, Algeria, Turkey, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Lebanon, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and other Middle East countries welcomed the Shah-Beijing dialogue and its important results, believing that it was a major victory in easing tensions in the Gulf region. UN Secretary-General António Guterres spokesman issued a statement welcoming Shai's decision to resume diplomatic relations and thanking China for facilitating dialogue. Arab League Secretary-General Gheit spoke highly of the Shah-Iraq agreement, believing that it would help stabilize the region. OIC Secretary-General Taha also expressed the hope that the Shah-Beijing dialogue will inject new impetus into cooperation among OIC member states. What is the spokesperson's comment on this? What measures will China take to promote the implementation of the relevant agreement in the next step?

Wang Wenbin said that the Beijing dialogue has opened a new page in the relationship between Saudi and Iran, opened the way for achieving peace and stability in the Middle East, and set an example for resolving contradictions and differences between countries through dialogue and consultation. No matter how complex the problems and how acute the challenges, dialogue on an equal footing in a spirit of mutual respect will surely lead to mutually acceptable solutions. The Middle East is the Middle East of the people of the Middle East, and the destiny of the Middle East region should be in the hands of the peoples of the Middle East. China supports all countries in the Middle East in further promoting the spirit of independence and self-determination, strengthening unity and cooperation, and working together to build a more peaceful, stable and prosperous Middle East.

The Shayi Beijing dialogue is also a successful practice of the Global Security Initiative. Facts have proved that "pulling one faction and fighting another", "divide and rule" and "camp confrontation" have never been the correct way to deal with security issues, and adhering to the common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security concept, taking the building of a security community as the long-term goal, and taking the new security path of dialogue rather than confrontation, partnership rather than alliance, and win-win rather than zero-sum is the long-term policy for seeking long-term peace and stability in the region and the world.

State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang pointed out that China is willing to be a promoter of security and stability in the Middle East, a partner in development and prosperity, and a promoter of unity and self-improvement. We will continue to contribute Chinese wisdom to the realization of peace and tranquillity in the Middle East, put forward China's proposals, give play to China's role as a responsible major country, and hope that more countries will work with China to promote the implementation of the Global Security Initiative and jointly build a world of lasting peace and universal security.
