Chinanews.com, Manila, March 14 (Reporter Zhang Xinglong) According to a report from the Philippine police on the 14th, the police in the country seized illegal drugs worth 1.2 billion pesos between January 1 and March 10 this year.

Philippine National Police Director Rudolph Azulin reported at a press conference that day that the Philippine National Police carried out a total of 9,375 anti-drug operations between January 1 and March 10, arresting 12,622 drug dealers.

Azulin added that the Philippine National Police also intensified its crackdown on illegal guns and wanted criminals during this period. A total of 6,268 guns were seized and 14,472 wanted criminals were arrested.

"The National Police will not rest until all these fugitives are brought to justice."

Azulin reported that from 2018 to 2022, the number of murders in the country has shown a downward trend for five consecutive years, from 7,121 in 2018 to 4,272 in 2022, a drop of 40.01%.

Azurin said that although the number of murders has been decreasing over the years, there is still a lot of work to be done by the National Police to prevent them from happening.
