Hear why the preschool is prioritized and how the board responds to criticism from L in the clip above.

These are tough times.

That's how the message about the city's economy at the tube green board's press conference can be summed up.

But according to the board, there is some glimmer of light in a new tax forecast that provides SEK 236 million in increased tax revenue.

Of this, SEK 103 million goes to a crisis buffer for unforeseen costs.

The rest, plus some targeted city grants, goes to what the board calls "crisis efforts for welfare".

The preschool board receives the most money with SEK 60 million.

The money does not cover the savings requirements

SVT Nyheter Väst has previously reported on Gothenburg's high schools having to save 80 million for the rest of the year.

In the extra budget, an additional SEK 34 million is now being pushed for the upper secondary school.

- This is the space we can use this early in the year, says municipal board chairman Jonas Attenius (S).

More to the library

Even the culture in Gothenburg has had demands to be fired hanging over it.

Earlier, SVt reported that the cultural sector in Gothenburg should save SEK 28 million.

Something that led to the cultural committee deciding to greatly reduce the purchase of new books for Gothenburg's library.

- It is a situation that we want to alleviate with the 15 million kroner that the cultural committee now receives, says municipal councilor Karin Pleijel (MP)

What do you think that money can contribute?

- They give the board the conditions to, for example, secure opening hours and book purchases at the libraries.

Something that is especially important in tough times.

Criticism from the opposition

Axel Darvik from the Liberals is critical of the budget.

He thinks more money should be put into primary school.

- It is worrying.

That will mean big savings.
