The forecast for the bathhouse is up to SEK 864 million.

Even if the municipal management hopes to lower that figure before everything is clear, it will be a hard blow for the municipality.

Finance manager Tobias Sipuri presented the grim figures to the municipal politicians on Monday.

The cost increase will be between 20.8 million and 31.3 million, depending on whether or not depreciation on the property over 30 years is to be counted on.

It is estimated at 10.5 million.

Therefore, the cost shines

The calculations are based on Kiruna municipality having to borrow 314 million for the investment.

This gives an annual interest cost (with an interest rate of 3.15 percent) of SEK 9.9 million and an amortization cost of SEK 6.3 million over 50 years.

The cost increase for a bathhouse twice as large in surface area and with an increased workforce from eight to 23 people costs SEK 4.6 million more per year.

In the clip, Mats Taaveniku (S) comments on how the municipality should handle the cost increases.
