The 28-year-old Australian boxer first sent his opponent to the mat before winning by technical knockout, after releasing a flurry of powerful straight lines.

Against a reputedly tough opponent, the son of former world welterweight and lightweight champion Kostya Tszyu recorded his 16th victory before the limit.

It is however the 4th defeat of Harrison, whose record shows 29 wins and a draw.

Hot on the heels of his win, the Sydney native challenged undisputed world super-welterweight champion, American Jermell Charlo, whom he was originally scheduled to face in a title-based bout in Las Vegas in January. .

But their clash was postponed following Charlo's left hand fracture in training in December.

"The message has been sent clearly (to Charlo, editor's note). You know what awaits you. I'm coming. I'm coming to America," said Tim Tszyu in a room full of Australian supporters.

Charlo has recorded only one loss in his career, losing to Harrison by unanimous decision in December 2018 in New York, before getting his revenge a year later.
