The advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader for military affairs, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, considered that the Iranian-Saudi agreement is an earthquake in the political arena and ends the American authority in the region.

He said that this agreement, which was mediated by China, is the second Chinese strike against the United States, considering that it is the beginning of the post-US phase in the Middle East.

Safavi added that what the region will witness after the Iranian-Saudi agreement will be different, stressing that it is in favor of the two countries and the West Asian region and not against any country in the region.

For its part, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that the agreement to resume relations between Tehran and Riyadh is important and will have a positive impact on securing common bilateral interests and other countries in the region.

In a statement, it added that the agreement proves Tehran's serious determination to secure the interests of the Iranian nation, its friends and neighbors in the region, and to employ regional capabilities to achieve and enhance comprehensive peace and stability.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry appreciated China's initiative, hosting and role in achieving the agreement, and thanked Iraq and Oman for their influential role.
