Patriarch Kirill urged to prevent the expulsion of the monks of the UOC from the Kyiv Lavra

“His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' addressed the Primates of the Local Orthodox Churches, a number of religious figures and representatives of international organizations with messages in which he shared his deep concern over the sharp increase in state pressure on the Orthodox Christians of Ukraine,” the message says.

It is specified that the appeals, in particular, were sent to Pope Francis, Guterres, OSCE Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid, Secretary General of the Council of Europe Maria Pejcinovic-Buric.

Earlier it became known that the National Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" obliged the monks of the canonical UOC to leave the buildings of the reserve until March 29.

Vladimir Legoyda, chairman of the Synodal Department for Church Relations with Society and the Media of the Moscow Patriarchate, called these demands the apogee of lawlessness.
