Opponents of pension reform find themselves in the streets again this Saturday for a seventh day of mobilization at the call of the inter-union.

Last Tuesday, 1.28 million demonstrators had beaten the pavement everywhere in France, a record since the beginning of this wave of protest.

Four days after a record day of mobilization which attracted nearly 1.3 million people to the streets all over France, the inter-union is again calling for demonstrations this Saturday against the pension reform.

In Paris, the procession will set off from Place de la République at 2 p.m. to arrive at Place de la Nation at 7 p.m. via Place de la Bastille.

A day that will also be accompanied by disruptions in rail transport, especially at the SNCF where traffic still looks "very disrupted".

The main information

  • New day of mobilization this Saturday against the pension reform

  • Last Tuesday, 1.28 million people gathered across France

  • This Friday, the government used article 44.3 of the Constitution to accelerate the vote of the text in the Senate

Traffic still "highly disrupted at SNCF, almost normal at RATP

Traffic will be normal on most Paris metro lines on Saturday, the fifth day of a renewable strike at the call of all RATP unions against the pension reform, only the RER A and B remaining "disturbed", announced the Régie on Friday.

On the SNCF side, on the other hand, the situation remains delicate with around half of the TGV Inoui and Ouigo removed as well as 60% of the TER.

Emmanuel Macron opposes an end of inadmissibility to the unions

The unions had requested a meeting with Emmanuel Macron in a letter directly addressed to the Head of State.

In his response, the latter did not respond to this request but said he remained "listening" to the opposition but reaffirmed his desire to go after this pension reform.

The government wants to speed up the vote on the text in the Senate

This Friday, the government triggered Article 44.3 of the Constitution to speed up the vote on the text in the Senate.

This tool allows the upper house to decide with a single vote on the entire reform, retaining only the amendments proposed or accepted by the government.
