There have been long and intensive rent negotiations in many places in the county.

There have also been concerns about rent increases of upwards of 10 percent or even more.

This week it was clear what the rent increase will be for rental properties within the public utility in all the county's municipalities.

Sandvikenhus was the last in the county to be ready with the new rents.

They wanted a six percent increase, but it turned out to be 4.75 percent.

- The consequences will be that we will not be able to do everything in our properties as we want and this will affect our tenants in the long term, says Stefan Lundqvist, CEO of Sandvikenhus AB.

The tenant association: Too high a level

But the Tenants' Association thinks the rent increase was too high.

So do several tenants that SVT has spoken to.

- Everything affects the economy and above all when there is an increase in the rent, says Sofia Andersson, mother of young children.

The rent negotiations with private property companies remain, but the Tenants' Association expects the increases to be at the same level as in the public sector.
