According to the UN Secretary General, the export of Ukrainian and Russian grain and food is of key importance for global food security and food prices.

On the eve of Guterres arrived in Ukraine on a visit.

On March 8, he met with President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Deputy Representative of the UN Secretary General Farhan Haq said that negotiations between the Russian delegation and UN representatives on the extension of the grain deal would be held at a high level next week in Geneva.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that it is time for the United States and other Western countries to stop playing the food card and sabotage the grain deal: the lion's share of grain from Ukraine goes at dumped fodder prices to the European Union, and not to the poorest states.

The ministry stated that the grain deal does not work.
