U.S. Congressional officials and senior Biden administration officials who disclosed the news said that Ukrainian pilots are undergoing skills assessments through simulators at the U.S. military base in Tucson, Arizona.

Authorities are also understood to have approved the transfer of 10 other Ukrainian pilots to the United States for further evaluation as early as this month.

A U.S. military official noted, “This event allows us to better help Ukrainian pilots become more efficient and provide them with better advice on how to develop their capabilities. During this event, pilots Will not be flying on any platform, but they will be using simulators during their visit."

When asked about the Ukrainian pilots going to the United States, White House Press Secretary Jean-Pierre reiterated at a briefing on the 6th that US President Biden has talked about the F-16 fighter issue, "This is well known. What the President said, That hasn't changed. We have no such plans at the moment."

Agence France-Presse stated that Ukrainian President Zelensky has repeatedly asked the United States to provide F-16 fighter jets, but US President Biden has so far opposed these requests.

Earlier on January 30, when a reporter asked whether the United States would deliver F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, Biden gave a short answer-"NO (no)".

Biden also told reporters last week that he had discussed the F-16 with Zelensky during a visit to Kiev on Feb. 20, but would not disclose details of the discussions.
