China News Agency, Beijing, March 7th, Islamabad news: According to the Associated Press, a suicide bomb attack occurred on the 6th local time in Baluchistan Province in southwestern Pakistan, killing 10 police officers and injuring 12 others.

  According to reports, this is one of the worst attacks on Pakistani security forces in recent months.

Subsequently, the extremist organization "Islamic State" claimed responsibility for the attack.

It said in a statement that militants from the group drove a bomb-laden motorcycle into a police car.

  The local police in Pakistan stated that the police were on routine patrol when the attack occurred.

Nine people were initially killed, and the wounded were taken to a nearby hospital, before another seriously injured police officer died.

The Sibi area where the incident occurred is about 150 kilometers east of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan.

  Police also said the officers who were attacked were deployed to the Sibi area last week, where an annual cultural festival is being held.

  Pakistani Prime Minister Shabaz condemned the attack, expressing his condolences to the families of the victims in a statement and ordering health officials to provide the best medical care for the injured.

He also vowed to defeat terrorism.
