Al Jazeera visited Cox's Bazar camp, one of the largest Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh, which witnessed a huge fire that damaged about 2,000 tents and displaced more than 12,000 refugees.

Al-Jazeera met some of the refugees residing in the camp, as well as volunteers who participated in the process of extinguishing the fire, which shed light once again on the extent of the suffering faced by these refugees.

The authorities there said that the causes of the fire were not yet clear, while a police official said that it may have been caused by gas cylinders used for cooking, adding that no injuries had been reported.

The city of Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh hosts more than a million Rohingya refugees who fled the army's repression in Myanmar in 2017.
