Tunisian Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar said that the crisis of African immigrants in his country is fabricated and that accusing Tunisia of racism is unacceptable.

This comes amid moves by the World Bank and the African Union against the backdrop of the crisis.

Bloomberg had quoted a text message to a spokeswoman for the African Union, in which she reported the cancellation of the "African Union Conference on Combating Illicit Financial Flows," which was scheduled to take place in Tunisia this month.

According to the letter, the spokeswoman said that no new country has yet been chosen to host the conference.

Bloomberg indicated that the decision comes after criticism of the Tunisian government regarding attacks on African immigrants in the country.

In the context, the President of the World Bank, David Malpes, announced in an internal memorandum the suspension of a partnership framework with Tunisia after the recent statements of President Kais Saied regarding migrants, and the memorandum referred to the postponement of the meeting of the Board of Governors on a new strategy with Tunisia until further notice.
