This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press secretary of the Polish government Piotr Muller.

He argues that "in relation to Belarus, it is necessary, unfortunately, to take far-reaching actions, if we talk about international sanctions."

In addition, Muller said that Warsaw recently asked the European Council to expand existing anti-Russian sanctions on Belarus.

Earlier, a court in Belarus sentenced ex-presidential candidate in 2020 Svetlana Tikhanovskaya in absentia to 15 years in prison.

The Minsk City Court found Tikhanovskaya guilty, among other things, of treason, conspiracy to seize power in the state, creating an extremist formation and leading the organization, as well as calling for the seizure of state power.

According to RIA Novosti, Latushko was sentenced in absentia by a Belarusian court to 18 years in prison.
