Some truck drivers could go on strike as early as Sunday evening, with blockages which could take place from Monday morning as part of the mobilization against the pension reform, after a call for mobilization from several unions.

After the call for a strike by electricians and gas workers, it is the turn of the truckers to mobilize against the pension reform.

The National Federation of Transport and Logistics Force Ouvrière-UNCP called in a press release "all road drivers to stop from Sunday evening March 5 at 10:00 p.m.", adding that work stoppages will then be renewed "March 6, 7...".

On the other hand, the Federal Road Union FGTE-CFDT, the majority union, only called for mobilization for March 7, at the same time as the other sectors.

"Road users will be able to pass"

"We are not allowed to use the trucks so they will use pallets, studs. The bulk of the mobilization will take place between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. industrial, highways - only at the level of heavy vehicles - tolls and roundabouts", details Patrice Clos, the secretary general of FO Transport interviewed by Europe 1. He adds that only companies will be impacted due to the immobilization of their inventory.

"Users, who are not heavy vehicles, will be able to pass."

According to

Le Parisien

, "multiple actions throughout the territory are planned from Monday morning", with in particular blockages of logistics platforms and industrial zones in Hauts-de-France and in the Paris region and snail operations around large metropolises.

Clément Beaune does not believe in a massive blockage

For his part, the Minister of Transport Clément Beaune, questioned on Sunday on the prospect of a possible blockage of the country or a threat to fuel supplies, refused to believe it: “I discussed with the unions again yesterday evening. They are extremely responsible so I do not believe that we will be in an irresponsible or blocking movement, we will do everything to avoid it", declared Clément Beaune on France 3.

"I do not exclude that there may be very targeted and very specific actions, but I believe that it will be isolated," he added.

FNTL-FO highlights in particular the fact that the government's pension reform will also concern truck drivers, who will have to work two more years despite the end-of-activity leave (CFA) they benefit from, which allows them to leave earlier. .

"The departure for the CFA will no longer be at 57 but at 59," said FO in its press release.

A national strike, renewable in certain sectors, is scheduled for Tuesday to oppose the pension reform.

In certain sectors, such as gas and electricians, the mobilization began on Friday, with load reductions already observed in several power stations in France.
