The US wants China to provide military support to Ukraine.

“We would like China to join the rest of the world in condemning this invasion and doing nothing about helping Russia continue to fight this war.

Chinese peace plan

Recall, on February 24, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a plan to resolve the situation in Ukraine.

It calls for the start of peace negotiations and a ceasefire, and also expresses Beijing's readiness to facilitate the resumption of dialogue between Moscow and Kyiv.

According to the Chinese authorities, instead of aggravating the situation and “pumping up the confrontation,” all parties should show prudence and restraint “in order to avoid further escalation and getting out of control of the situation around Ukraine.”

According to experts, due to such statements, Washington is trying to "draw China" into the confrontation in Ukraine, despite the fact that Beijing intends to remain neutral on this issue.

“China stands for a peaceful resolution of the conflict, taking into account the concerns of Russia.

This position is unacceptable for the United States, since they are aimed at the strategic defeat of the Russian Federation.

And if before that Washington demanded that Beijing not provide assistance to Moscow in the field of defense, now we are actually talking about an appeal to the PRC to start supplying weapons to Kyiv.

But such a scenario is unrealistic.

China will not agree to this, since such a step does not meet its goals and political course, ”said Alexander Lukin, scientific director of the Institute of China and Modern Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in an interview with RT.

Moreover, from his point of view, such rhetoric suggests that the American political establishment "just exists in a parallel reality."

“If China fundamentally rejects illegal unilateral sanctions, including against Russia, then what can we say about military assistance for Kyiv?
