Economist Sachs said that US policy since the 90s has led to conflict with Russia

He spoke about this in an interview with the New Yorker.

According to him, one of the key mistakes of tense relations between Moscow and Washington was the expansion of NATO. 

Also, according to Sacks, the situation was aggravated by the bombing of Serbia by the forces of the alliance and the influence of the United States on the 2014 coup d'état in Ukraine.

Regarding the Ukrainian crisis, the economist noted that the American authorities paid huge amounts of money to those who led the Maidan movement.

“This war reflects the growing tension between the United States and Russia for a quarter of a century now,” Sacks said.
