Francois Asselino, the leader of the French People's Republican Union party, announced this on Twitter.

Thus, he commented on the words of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that America would have to “send its sons and daughters” to fight against Russia in order to protect NATO.

Asselino noted that this statement testifies to two facts "that America and the EU have difficulty hiding."

“Firstly, the Ukrainian army is losing its positions in Bakhmut.

Secondly, the conflict causes more discontent among anti-Russian Ukrainians,” he explained.

Earlier, the head of the office of the Ukrainian president, Andriy Yermak, noted the need to strengthen Ukraine's air defense with modern systems that NATO members have.

It was also reported that the United States on March 3 will announce a new package of military assistance to Ukraine.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg acknowledged that the supply of ammunition to Ukraine "is not sustainable", since their "consumption is much higher" than the rate of production in the member states of the alliance.

The bloc's Secretary General also stated that NATO's stocks of shells for deliveries to Kyiv have been depleted.
