G20 = In India, where the foreign ministers' meeting of 20 major countries was held, US Secretary of State Brinken and Russia's Foreign Minister Lavrov contacted and exchanged opinions.

It will be the first face-to-face meeting between the US and Russian foreign ministers since Russia began its military invasion of Ukraine.

A senior State Department official told reporters on Wednesday that Secretary of State Brinken and Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov met for about 10 minutes in India, where the G20 foreign ministers were meeting.

In this, Secretary Brinken emphasized the position of the United States to continue to support Ukraine, and requested that Russia and the United States reconsider the suspension of the implementation of the nuclear disarmament treaty "New START".

At a press conference after the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting, Secretary Brinken criticized Russia's suspension of the implementation of the nuclear disarmament treaty as "irresponsible" and emphasized that "it is in the interest of both countries to comply with the treaty." .

The State Department said it was the first face-to-face meeting between U.S. and Russian foreign ministers since Russia began its military invasion of Ukraine in February last year.

On the other hand, a spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry told local state media that ``Chairman Brinken asked Foreign Minister Lavrov to contact him while he was traveling to the G20 session,'' claiming that it was in response to an offer from the United States. It is said that there were no negotiations.
