The mysterious ailment known as Havana Syndrome was not the result of a foreign adversary, the paper said.

The report's findings strongly contradict claims by some diplomats who suspected their symptoms were being caused by the actions of "a Russian or other hostile government," the article says.

The authors also note that there have also been no reports of Russia using a “new type of energy weapon” on the battlefield in Ukraine.

In 2021, the director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, in an interview with RT, commented on reports of the Havana syndrome that American diplomats, including those from the US Embassy in Cuba, complained about.

So-called acoustic attacks have been reported by U.S. diplomats in Cuba and China since 2016.

Embassy staff complained of unusual symptoms, including high blood pressure and dizziness.

The US National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine suggested that exposure could be "directed impulsive radio frequency energy," but chemical exposure, infectious disease, and psychological problems are also not ruled out.

The Kremlin rejected hints about the imaginary involvement of the Russian side in the Havana syndrome.
