China News Agency, Moscow, March 1 (Reporter Tian Bing) The opening ceremony of the Moscow Metro Ring Line in the Russian capital was held on March 1. Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the opening ceremony in the form of a video connection.

Putin said that the 70-kilometer Grand Ring has become the longest subway ring in the world.

The Grand Ring Road will bring great changes to the transportation system of the entire capital area. It will reduce the load pressure of multiple expressways and become an important driving force for the development and improvement of the adjacent areas of the capital, making the life and travel of urban residents more convenient and efficient.

On the same day, the last nine stations of the Great Ring Line of the Moscow Metro were put into operation, marking the opening of the entire line of the Great Ring Line.

Moscow Mayor Sobyanin, Moscow Metro employees and construction personnel attended the opening ceremony.

The Moscow Metro Ring is the largest subway construction project in Russia and one of the largest subway projects in the world. It consists of 31 stations and 3 electric garages, with a total length of 70 kilometers.

The Grand Ring Road will be constructed and opened in sections, and the first tender section will be opened to traffic in February 2018.

Among them, China Railway Construction won the bid to undertake the project of the southwest section of the Moscow Metro Third Interchange Ring (ie, the Great Ring), with a total length of 5.4 kilometers, including Aminyevo Station, Michurin Street Station, and Vernadsky Street Station The task of constructing 3 stations and 9 shield tunnels is also the first time that Russia has introduced Chinese enterprises in the field of subway construction.

The design of Moscow subway lines mainly adopts radial and circular layouts. Most of the lines are radial lines, and it is inconvenient to transfer between them.

The Grand Ring Road will effectively connect all radiation lines and greatly improve travel efficiency.

In addition, the opening of the entire Grand Ring Road will significantly improve the transportation services for 3.3 million residents of Moscow's 34 districts.
