- Violence in connection with sex is not something that everyone appreciates, but we meet young people who believe that it is expected of them and it affects young people in how they act and how they feel about what to do and what not to do.

Assignment review addresses the topic

A survey carried out by SVT's program Uppdrag Granskning shows that young people testify that hard sex has become the norm.

- I think there are several reasons for that.

Sex education in Sweden is unequal, and so we have free access to pornography where young people find inspiration instead of in conversations with safe adults, says midwife Katarina Svensson Flood.

Katarina thinks that few adults talk about what is actually depicted in pornography.

- If we just say "don't just look at porn", it's an insufficient conversation.

We need to talk more about what is portrayed and how men and women are portrayed.

"Need to talk more"

Even if not all young people are affected by rough and violent sex, there are still enough of them for us to talk about it, says Katarina Svensson Flood.

- We have to talk more about the fact that you have the right to your borders.

It is not always easy, it can be difficult even for adults to know their limits.

But rather an embarrassing conversation with your child than nothing at all, and you can always refer to other safe adults such as the youth reception or student health.
