Charles III strips Harry and Meghan of their residence in the United Kingdom.

Harry's revelations in his autobiographical work certainly marked his father.

According to the daily newspapers The Sun and The Telegraph, Buckingham Palace has sent "an eviction notice" to the couple, who are stepping up attacks on royalty.

Harry and Meghan are now homeless in the UK.

King Charles III has withdrawn the use of their British residence in Windsor from the couple who left for the United States after the publication of the prince's revenge book, British media reported on Wednesday.

According to the daily newspapers The Sun and The Telegraph, Buckingham Palace has sent "an eviction notice" to the couple, who have multiplied attacks on royalty since their withdrawal and their sensational departure from the United Kingdom in 2020.

The private couple of royal address

Frogmore Cottage, a 5-bedroom residence in the royal estate of Windsor Castle in west London, was granted to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex by Elizabeth II in 2018 as a wedding gift.

The renovation work carried out by the couple for more than 2 million euros at the expense of the taxpayer had shocked, and Prince Harry had to reimburse them once his departure was recorded.

According to The Sun, Charles III would not have offered a new residence to the "Sussex", thus depriving them of any royal address during their rare trips to the United Kingdom.

While the couple are already challenging in court the withdrawal of their special police protection, this decision sounds like a sanction after the publication by Harry in early January of his memoirs entitled "The Substitute", in which he settles accounts with his family.

He recounts in particular a violent argument with his older brother William, the heir to the throne, about his wife Meghan and accuses Queen Consort Camilla of having revealed private conversations in the press.

A punishment

The "Sussex" would have "until the beginning of the summer", that is after the coronation of the king, scheduled for May 6, to move their belongings remaining in the residence, according to a source close to the couple quoted by their biographer Omid Scobie, in an article for Yahoo! news.

Two months from this event, the question of the presence of Harry and Meghan at the ceremony is still not officially decided, even if some media report that they will be invited.

According to the sources cited by this reputable journalist close to the couple, Harry and Meghan were "stunned" by this decision which looks like "a cruel punishment".

According to The Sun, the king would have asked Prince Andrew to live in Frogmore Cottage to reduce the lifestyle of his younger brother, who currently lives in the luxurious property of Royal Lodge in Windsor.

The king wants to reduce the lifestyle of the British monarchy

Andrew fell out of favor after accusations of sexual assault and his friendship with the late American financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of sexually abusing minors.

The king, who according to the British media wants to reduce the lifestyle of the British monarchy, would thus consider withdrawing his annual allowance of 250,000 pounds (about 283,000 euros), making it difficult to finance the maintenance of the Royal Lodge.
