The night of August 8 to 9, 1969 is recorded in the history
of the most macabre Hollywood
for a series of crimes devised by
Charles Manson
and his sect called La Familia.
The events occurred in a
Beverly Hills mansion
located at 10050 Cielo Drive where actress
Sharon Tate
, wife of
Roman Polanski,
and six other victims were murdered in cold blood. Tate was eight and a half months pregnant.

Members of the organization at the scene included Patricia Krenwinkel, Susan Atkins, Charles Watson, and
Linda Kasabian.
The latter, as exclusively confirmed by the American portal TMZ,
died at the age of 73 on January 21
in a hospital in Tacoma (Washington State).
According to the death certificate to which Linda has had access,
she changed her last name to Chiochios
so that she would not be linked to the Manson Family.

took her daughter to flee
the ranch to safety, since she did not share Manson's desire to
continue killing.
When the trial began in June 1970, she Linda
testified for 18 days
offering all kinds of gruesome details related to the two crimes.
Her statements were key to sentencing
all members of the clan to
life imprisonment .
In exchange, she Linda
got immunity and put her life back together.

The Cielo Drive mansion was ordered to be built by the French star Michèle Morgan in 1944, but at the end of World War II she decided to return to France.
Shortly thereafter, this European country house-inspired mansion was the

in the industry including Henry Fonda, Olivia Hussey (71) and Cary Grant along with Dyan Cannon (86), who spent their honeymoon.
The residence
was completely demolished in 1994,
another mansion was built in a different style, and the street numbering was changed.
