Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen called on Germany to take decisive action against Iran and its nuclear program, while German Foreign Minister Analina Baerbock said that her country and Israel share concern about Iran's "continuous nuclear escalation".

During a meeting with his German counterpart, Annalina Baerbock, in Berlin, Cohen said today, Tuesday, "This is the right time to take steps, this is the right time to deal with the goal of preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon."

Cohen responded to a question, saying that there are two options for dealing with Iran, namely putting sanctions and military options on the table, continuing, "Now is the right time to work on these two steps," and demanded that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard be included in the list of terrorist organizations.

For her part, Berbock affirmed the friendship between Germany and Israel, and said that Berlin is committed to its responsibility towards Israel's security, "and Israel can depend on it permanently," pointing to Germany's foreign policy moves, including with regard to Iran.

The German Foreign Minister stated that "the Iranian regime not only oppresses its citizens in the most brutal way, but also threatens stability in the region," she said.

She also pointed out that "what unites both of us is the concern about the nuclear escalation by Iran and about the recent news about the extremely high enrichment of uranium, and there is no reasonable civilian justification for such a high degree of enrichment, Iran should not possess a nuclear bomb."

Negotiations aimed at reviving the 2015 nuclear deal have stalled for several months.
