In eastern Burkina Faso, the inhabitants of Partiaga asked the authorities for help on Monday, February 27, 2023, after an attack carried out by terrorists the day before.

In Burkina Faso, the inhabitants of the commune of Partiaga, located 160 kilometers from Fada N'Gourma, in the East region, denounced Monday, February 27 during a press conference the inaction of the Defense Forces and of security.
The day before, armed terrorist groups launched an attack on the city: administrative buildings, concessions and granaries were set on fire.
The human toll is not yet known but the survivors of Partiaga tell of having experienced the “
horror
”.
Without seeing any reinforcements despite their repeated calls for help for more than two weeks, the survivors say they have been abandoned by the army.
According to them, only the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) remained in the face of the armed groups that prowled around the town.

Terrorist forces destroyed most of the city's administrative buildings and crisscrossed the concessions to set them on fire
,” said Saidou Sinini, spokesperson for the Partiaga residents.

Impossible for the time being to take stock of the attack, nor to go there to bury the dead.
The inhabitants demand the return of the Defense and Security Forces and undertake to cooperate with the authorities after this tragedy, declared Saidou Sinini: "
We undertake to undertake strong actions, to draw up an exact assessment of the horror which happened, to facilitate the removal of the various abandoned bodies in order to be able to proceed with their burial and funerals, and to establish humanitarian corridors to allow the children as well as the elderly who are still in the commune and in the forest to be able to find shelter.

After an attempted demonstration in front of the governorate of the Eastern region, the inhabitants of Partiaga were dispersed by the security forces.
The Burkinabè authorities have not yet commented on this attack.
