An operating cost estimated at 7,000 euros per year

Right in the center of this village of 500 inhabitants, a large stone building with large white shutters houses the town hall.

When Samuel Binet, deputy mayor, does the accounts, he can't find his way around.

"The operating cost of such a building is estimated at around 7,000 euros per year. The fuel oil to supply the boiler is 1,500 euros per year and it is a colossal financial burden", he explains.

No choice, you have to sell the building.

And Samuel already has an idea to attract future buyers.

"We have our archives here, which could possibly be a bedroom. There are four garages, a large building with at least ten rooms. The idea is above all to accommodate families, possibly two", explains the deputy mayor.

It is the building of the municipal school that will house the town hall.

A mainly symbolic change for the inhabitants.

"There are memories. It's true that we married our children in this town. The premises of the current town hall will no longer be the same, but we will always have a town hall in Maisoncelles. That's the most important thing “, quips a resident.

It only remains to get used to the change of address and to celebrate weddings in the schoolyard.
