"Today's sanctions list includes 12 high-ranking officials of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Law Enforcement Forces (LEF) who were involved in gross and systematic human rights violations in Iran," the ministry said in a statement.
These persons will be prohibited from entering the territory of the state, and their bank accounts in Canada, if any, will be frozen.
Earlier, the country announced the imposition of sanctions against almost 130 individuals from Russia.
The government has also blocked Russia's plans to expand its consular presence in the country.
