The Tunisian Ennahda Movement said that the detained leader, Noureddine Al-Behairi, has been in resuscitation since Friday, and his health condition is very critical, and the movement held President Qais Saeed and the investigating judge responsible for the deterioration of his condition.

The movement added, in a media statement on behalf of its president, Rashid Ghannouchi, that it "holds Qais Saeed and the investigative judge in the fabricated case against al-Buhairi responsible for his physical safety, and demands his immediate release and the cessation of abuse and denunciation of opposition figures."

She explained that Al-Buhairi was transferred to the emergency department of Al-Rabita Hospital in the capital, as a result of a sharp drop in blood circulation and severe chest pains due to the hunger strike he is embarking on in protest against the assassination attempt he is exposed to, according to the statement.

Since February 11, Tunisia has been witnessing a campaign of arrests that included politicians, media professionals, activists, judges and businessmen, amid continued official silence regarding the nature of the charges and the details of the arrests.

On February 14, Saeed accused some of those arrested of "conspiring against state security and being behind crises in the distribution of goods and high prices."

The day before yesterday, Saturday, the investigating judge in the case, which has become known in Tunisia as "conspiracy against state security," issued prison debit cards against opponents of Tunisian President Kais Saied.

The new cards included orders to imprison the leaders of the opposition National Salvation Front, Jawhar bin Mubarak and Shaima bin Issa.

Before that, the judge had decided to imprison both Khayyam al-Turki and Abdel Hamid al-Jelassi, who have been arrested in connection with the case for more than a week.

The investigating judge also issued a similar card against the Secretary-General of the Republican Party, Issam Al-Shabi.

Meanwhile, on Friday evening, the security forces arrested the leader of the Salvation Front, Reda Bahaj, and the former Secretary-General of the Democratic Current Party, Ghazi Al-Shawashy, after raiding and searching their homes.

In return for Saeed's repeated emphasis on the independence of the judicial system, the opposition accuses him of using the judiciary to pursue those who reject the exceptional measures that began to be imposed on July 25, 2021.
