A few days ago, the 4th China Design Exhibition and Public Art Exhibition held in Shenzhen has refreshed the public's cognition and imagination of design with more than a thousand works, highlighting the innovative vitality of Chinese design.

  Respond to the proposition of the times and tell the story of China

  China Design Exhibition and Public Art Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as "Design Exhibition") is a national-level design exhibition initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and is held every three years.

This year's design exhibition is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the People's Government of Guangdong Province and the People's Government of Shenzhen City. Excellent achievements of Chinese design and public art.

  "This year's design exhibition embodies how design has adapted to economic and social development and people's needs for a better life in recent years. In the face of the rise of great powers, high-tech development, information transformation, poverty alleviation, rural revitalization, ecological civilization construction, traditional Chinese designers have given their own answers to the questions of the times, such as cultural activation and red culture continuation." In the past three years, China has experienced many major historical nodes.

Focusing on major events such as celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, as well as major themes such as the decisive battle against poverty, the decisive victory in building a well-off society in an all-round way, and the fight against the new crown epidemic, Chinese designers use unique Chinese design language to tell Chinese stories. A large number of excellent works that demonstrate the Chinese spirit and style, and show the Chinese aesthetic style.

  For example, the logo for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China designed by the team of the Central Academy of Fine Arts uses the number "70" and the five-star national emblem representing China's national image and Tiananmen as the core elements.   The design of a high-speed maglev train with a speed of 600 kilometers per hour, the forward-looking design of Mars spacesuits, the design of underwater robots, the design of intelligent logistics systems, the design of parametric clothing intelligent design robots... In this exhibition, technological elements can be seen everywhere.

Whether it is "promoting industrial transformation", "helping cultural construction", or "leading social fashion" and "improving ecological civilization", it is inseparable from the participation of science and technology, and the rapid development of science and technology also provides designers with a broader space to play.

  In the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, athletes from the Zhangjiakou competition area took the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway "Fuxing" intelligent EMU to and fro.

Based on the existing "Fuxinghao" CR400BF EMU, it is the first time in the world to realize automatic driving at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and it is the first time to use the Beidou satellite navigation system independently developed by China.

This time, the "Fuxing" model of the "Auspicious Snow Welcomes Spring" version is displayed at the exhibition site.

  Not only is it a heavy weapon of a big country, but there are many other cases of the combination of technology and design in this exhibition, involving various aspects.

For example, Yao Huifen, the non-heritage inheritor of Su embroidery, used the digital stitch design in the Su embroidery works created by the new stitch method.

This design is the topological research result of Suzhou Embroidery Needlework by Yau Mathematical Sciences Center and Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts research and development team. It successfully converts needlework into functions and generates computer programs that can record and innovate needlework.

  "Su embroidery has accumulated 40 to 50 kinds of stitches after hundreds of years of development. Now, through algorithms and the participation of learning artificial intelligence, we can instantly generate countless new stitches. Art has developed a new design language. The exhibition is divided into 5 sections: "Charming Bay Area", "Symbiosis Bay Area", "Trend Bay Area", "Vision Bay Area" and "Imagination Bay Area". 26 cases of excellent design and public art works, a total of 281 pieces/sets.

The "Bay Area Special Exhibition" comprehensively outlines the ubiquitous design power in the life of the Bay Area.

  "'Bay Area Special Exhibition' relies on the overall background of the design exhibition, highlights its own innovation, experimentation, and avant-garde nature of 'first try', and focuses on presenting the distinctive characteristics of local design and public art in the Bay Area."
