“At the request of the investigation, the defendant in the criminal case of the death of people as a result of a fire in the center of Moscow was elected a measure of restraint in the form of detention until 04/22/2023,” the Moscow Investigative Committee said in a statement.
Earlier it was reported that as a result of a fire in the MKM hotel in the center of Moscow, seven people died.
The Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case into the incident.
Later, Yulia Ivanova, senior assistant to the head of the Moscow headquarters of the Russian Investigative Committee, said that the fire at the MKM hotel on Mezhdunarodnaya Street in the center of Moscow occurred as a result of arson.
