Regarding TikTok, a video sharing app operated by a Chinese company, the EU = European Union executive agency, the European Commission, has announced that it will be prohibited for employees to use it on business terminals.

There is growing concern about information leaks in Europe and the United States.

The European Commission announced on the 23rd that it will ban the use of TikTok on commission terminals and mobile terminals used by staff for work.

It explains that ``to protect the European Commission from cybersecurity threats,'' but does not clarify the specific threats.

The decision will take effect from the 15th of next month, and employees using the app will be asked to remove it by then.

Regarding TikTok, the United States also passed a law in December last year banning its use on devices owned by the federal government.

Also, according to multiple media, more than half of the states in the United States are prohibited from using devices owned by state governments.

And next month, the US House of Representatives is expected to call the CEO of the company behind the app to a public hearing to testify for the first time about how it handles users' information, including protecting privacy.

There is growing concern in Europe and the United States that information will not be leaked to the Chinese government via TikTok.
