According to Melnyk, quoted by Die Welt, Scholz is following a “zag-zag course” regarding aid to Ukraine.
“We, Ukrainians, call on the Chancellor to cross all self-drawn red lines and provide the Ukrainian armed forces with all available weapon systems,” he said.
Melnik stressed that Kyiv needed fighter jets, as well as "German frigates, corvettes and submarines."
Earlier, Melnik called on the German authorities to provide Kyiv with all possible types of weapons, including aircraft and ballistic missiles.
He also stated that Germany could supply Kyiv with ten times more tanks than the promised 14.
The American Democratic politician, candidate for governor of Kentucky, Jeffrey Young, then called Melnik a war criminal.
German politician Gauke Schulz expressed confidence that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will never receive decommissioned Tornado aircraft.
