A minor under the age of 12 died this afternoon when she fell from a third-floor balcony in the town of
Sallent (Barcelona)
, along with her twin sister, who was seriously injured, police sources have confirmed to EFE.
The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating the causes of this event, although according to the first indications
it is ruled out that it was a criminal action.
Around six in the afternoon, the Catalan police received the notice of the accident that occurred in Estació de Sallent street and when the emergency services arrived
they could not do anything to save the life
of the minor.
Her twin sister
was able to be stabilized
and transferred to the Parc Taulí hospital in serious condition.
The Mossos are now investigating
whether the event is due to an accidental fall
or if, for some reason, the young women have jumped from the balcony.
