According to the agreement on the mutual recognition and replacement of driver's licenses signed, the mainland and Macao recognize valid driver's licenses issued by each other, and one party allows persons holding each other's driver's licenses to drive directly or to renew their driver's licenses without a test.
The types of driving licenses that can be exchanged through mutual recognition include small cars and small cars with automatic transmission.
For permanent residents of Macao who hold a valid official Macao driver's license, holding a formal Macao driver's license, as well as the original identity certificate, physical condition certificate, and photo, they can directly exchange for a mainland driver's license without taking the test;
Those who hold a valid mainland paper driver's license can directly drive the specified model within 14 days of entering Macau, and do not need to renew the Macau driver's license; those who need to continue driving after entering Macau for more than 14 days can drive in Macau within one year after being registered with the Traffic Department of the Macau Public Security Police Directly drive the specified car.
The mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses between the Mainland and Macau will directly benefit people traveling and visiting relatives in the Mainland and Macau, making it easier for Mainland and Macau residents to travel by car, and better promoting the development of exchanges between the Mainland and Macau.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Public Security, previously, the mainland and Hong Kong have achieved mutual recognition of driver's license renewal.
